Step Five: Modifying the Texture Maps |
In order to get the texture maps to be able to customize them, we first need to export the model.
Menu - File - Export
Save Type as: N-Sided Quidam Format
Ensure 'Export Textures' check box is selected.
Seen here are all the textures which were exported, seen in PhotoShop's File browser.
In Photoshop open the BODY COLOR file. It should look similiar to the above image.
In Photoshop, I simply made the skin color a sky blue color, painted some eye-liner, and eye shadow on the face, and colored the lips.
To create an interesting effect, which ends up looking like a fungal growth, I pasted in some tree textures (clipped from a picture on the Beatle's Abbey Road album cover)

Next I opened, and modified the Marcel Color picture, which maps to the shirt our vampire is wearing.
First I colored it white, applied the Canvas texturizer filter to give it a cloth like appearance.
Next I Googled some Blood images, and gored up the shirt to show our Vamp has been quite busy, and messily feeding.
Colored, textured, and applied some subtle dried blood stains to the Skirt Color image.
Colorized one of the eye maps to make them a glowing red.
Step Six: Changing Texture Maps in Quidam |
To load the new texture maps back into Quidam, enter Texture Studio
Click and hold on the body, select the file folder icon, and then the Choose File.
On the File Load dialog box, select the new BodyColor file.
Click on the Shirt, and load in the new MarcelColor texture file.
Click on the Skirt, and load in the new Skirt file.
Clcik on the Eyes, and load in the new Eye map.
In the Material editor, adjust the Ambience, Specularity, and Shine to give the eyes a glowing appearance.
Move around the lighting, adjust intensity, and color on all 4 lights to give the mood lighting you desire.
