Chalana works by using the Biomichanics inc's AMC to MEL and ASF to MOV executables which you can download for free at CMU Graphics Lab motion capture database. Chalana also includes the same programs in the application directory. With Chalana you can execute the MEL files in to your Maya projects frame rate and/or grid scale using the shelf.

This is an importer plugin for the JNG image file format. JNG files do store image data by embedding a JPEG datastream for color information, and may embed another grayscale image to be used as an alpha channel (stored using PNG or JPEG compression). So basically, a JNG file can be seen as a JPEG with an optional alpha channel (which can be lossless if wanted).
