Simulating Car Motion Using Reactor (Wheel).
Reactor is a powerful tool that comes with 3d Studio Max, it makes it possible to simulate realistic dynamics based on physically-defined properties, such as hard body, soft body, cloth, and liquid. It can simulate the reaction occurring when a box falling from a high place hits the ground. This could be compared to all the time required to do the same effect using keyframes, and that wouldn't still give us a realistic animation similar to the one possible to create using reactor. This tutorial will teach you how to simulate car motion using the Wheel Reactor. The video below features the result that we are going to create in this tutorial.

Simulating A Running Fan Using Reactor (Motor).
This tutorial will explore one of the many functions of Reactor in 3DS Max, which is a powerful tool that lets us simulate various real-life physics so that we can, for example, simulate physical behaviours such as wind, wheels and motors. We will learn in this tutorial how to create a simulation of a fan with the help of the Reactor Motor, Point Constraint, CSolver, and the Rigid Body Collection. I will show you how to use these reactors to create an animation similar to the one you see below. This is an intermediate level tutorial, make sure that you know the 3DS Max basics before attempting this tutorial.

Quick Glow.
Goto Material Editor and create new standard material with some color of your choice. Now, this next step is important. Click on Material Effect Channel button (Default marked as number 0) and select any number but 0 (Zero). This is why every new material has default Channel Id set to 0, and we are making only this material glow. So, select number, lets say, 5 (five). And this is it, for setting the scene up.

Animating An Analog Clock.
Modeling is quite easy but the important is animation for the clock. As you should know a real clock contains 3 hands for hours, minutes, and seconds (called second hand) which move according to each other. As the real one works our model will work in the same way.

Making A Sideshow Bob.
Hello I am Jalo and going to explain as were the construction of bob (sideshow bob) through 8 phases. 1 concept and modeling, 2 rigging and skinnig, 3 face and texturization, 4 rendering and animation, all of them group is important for constructing a character like this. The first stage that I go to speak is the one of conceptualizacion and modeling.....
Conceptualizacion is most important. because at this moment we must have very in clear that what we are going to construct... soon to pass the modeling and to be constructing mesh basing to us on the concept, is something as well as one devises in a design project. If you dont have this, you dont have nothing.. Definitively it not going to work... the idea is the Motor of all project and without this, believe me is not going to arrive at any port. It is here where all the questions, are answered.....
At the time of beginning, to start of a model is best one has idea that it forms has and as is seen. Thus of was in sideshow bob. I have toy bob which I photographed in its views, in front, flank and above, that helps like kick off to star in the model.

In the part number 1 of this tutorial we saw conceptualization and modeling and we spoke of the important thing that it is, to prepare correct modeling, that soon was animated, then being started off to be anticipated that we mentioned before, the idea concept and modeled and now, we passed to rigging and skinning....

Creature Hand.
Hello! The following is a short tutorial that I've created to demonstrate how to model simple three-finger hand in 3dsmax 5 and 6. It's neither realistic or completely cartoony. Although this isn't an advanced tutorial, those attempting it should be familiar with the editable poly object and the tools within it, such as ring, loop, grow shrink, extrude, bevel, etc.

Acceleration & Deceleration.
I've always hated jerky exact computer movement, keyframe animation is a fantastic way to animate but can leave the movement all too unnatural. Proper keyframing will improve this, but with track-view animation editing you can achieve this with out too much hassle.
Create a simple animation. In this example, a sphere animated from left to right over 100 frames is enough to see the effect. Go into the track-view and highlight the transform-position of the sphere. It will be necessary to toggle the assign controller (Top tollbar) button and select XYZ Position. Then, after selecting the X Position, (In my case I animated along the x axis only so the other two don't matter) you will see a Linear Curve, this strait exact line is creating the exacting jerky movement. By right clicking on any of the keyframes you will open the property inspector, hold down the ease in or out buttons and select the very last selection. This is a beizer corner, so grab the toggle handle and make it flat. You now have created a logarithmic curve and this causes the "tweening" frames to act in a more natural way.

Micro Cells.
This is my 3rd 3ds max tutorial, and it will teach you how to create microscopic cell scenes. It should be very easy to complete and interesting. It will cover all the modeling, and all the materials. If you have any questions, comments, or if you want or need any help, please email me at viper680@hotmail.com. I also have a new section on my site called "fan art", which has artworks and renders of what people have created from my tutorials. Ok let's start!

Rendering WIP Images.
In this tutorial, you will learn how to create those “clay” and wire frames you have probably already seen quite a lot in WIP forums. Apart from looking cool, they allow you and others to see curves and corners more clearly by the use of light and shadows. Some of the features in this tutorial may not be available in older versions but work for recent 3D Studio MAX versions. Key terms include Light Tracer, Skylight, Mental Ray Final Gather, Bounces, Composite and wire materials.
