Title: Cornetto
Artist: Chris Gregory
Software: 3D Studio Max
Theme: Realism
Description: A cornetto, or zink in German, is a predecessor of the modern trumpet. Like a trumpet, it has a cupped mouthpiece; like a recorder or flute, it has holes that change the pitch of the instrument when covered. Instruments such as this were often wrapped in black leather, and their softer, less strident tone blended quite nicely with viols and woodwinds. This is second in my series of musical instruments, based on several originals in museums around the world, and modern reconstructions that I've played.
